HISTORY:
After much research, we have determined that there is a very interesting history to this particular Star of David...
The mold for this particular piece appears to be modeled after the work of Ephraim Moses Lilien (1874–1925). He was an illustrator and printmaker during the Art Nouveau period. He is especially known for his Jewish and Zionist themed art.
One of his works was a stamp for the Keren Kayemet (the Jewish National Fund), Vienna, 1901-2. The JNF, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1901 to buy and develop land in Ottoman Palestine for Jewish settlement.
It appears that this particular Star of David was modeled after Lilien's Art Nouveau stamp. (see photo)
